Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, sliced

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Pudding Base: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat until well combined.

Add Milk: Slowly add the whole milk to the dry ingredients while continuously whisking to ensure no lumps form. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and begins to simmer, about 5-7 minutes.

Incorporate Butter and Vanilla: Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the unsalted butter and vanilla extract until smooth.

Layer the Bananas: In a serving dish or individual cups, add a layer of banana slices on the bottom.

Add Chocolate Pudding: Pour a generous layer of the chocolate pudding over the banana slices, ensuring they are covered completely. Repeat this layering process until you run out of bananas and pudding, ending with a chocolate layer on top.

Make Whipped Cream: In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Top it Off: Spoon the whipped cream over the last layer of chocolate pudding.

Garnish: For the finishing touch, sprinkle chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream.

Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pudding to set, making it easier to serve.
