Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup cranberry sauce (can be homemade or store-bought)

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Optional garnish: fresh parsley or chives

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined but don't overwork the mixture to keep the meatballs tender.

Form Meatballs: With your hands, roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are spaced about an inch apart.

Bake Meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through.

Prepare Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a medium bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until smooth.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce: After 20 minutes, remove the meatballs from the oven and carefully transfer them to a large skillet over medium heat. Pour the cranberry BBQ sauce over the meatballs and toss gently to coat them evenly.

Simmer: Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the meatballs are heated through.

Serve: Once done, transfer the meatballs to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired, and serve hot with toothpicks for dipping or with crusty bread for a complete meal.
