Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1/4 cup beef broth

Salt and black pepper to taste

Cooked rice or quinoa for serving

Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef marinates, wash and cut the broccoli into florets, slice the bell pepper and onion, and mince the garlic and ginger. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Let it sear without stirring for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, then transfer the beef to a plate and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the broccoli florets, bell pepper, and onion. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to get tender but still crisp. Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine and Simmer: Return the beef to the pan and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired, and serve hot over cooked rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
