Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

4 oz slices of deli ham, cut into strips

4 oz sliced Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for garnish (optional)

Fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley) for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean, flat surface. Carefully separate the dough into the triangles as indicated on the package.

Add Ham and Cheese: If you’d like to use the Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the wider end of each dough triangle. Place a strip of ham and a small piece of cheese in the center of each triangle.

Roll the Croissants: Starting at the wide end, roll the triangles up toward the point, enclosing the fillings. Gently pinch the edges to seal them to prevent the filling from leaking out while baking.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place each rolled croissant on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden-brown finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the croissants are puffed and golden brown.

Cool and Garnish: Once baked, allow the mini croissants to cool slightly on a wire rack. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Serve: Enjoy these delightful mini ham and cheese croissants warm as an appetizer, snack, or part of a brunch spread!
