Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

12 large romaine lettuce leaves (or butter lettuce)

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup pickles, sliced thinly

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)

Ketchup and mustard, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly but avoid overworking the meat to ensure tender bites.

Shape the Mini Patties: Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape them into mini patties about 1/2 inch thick.

Cook the Patties: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the mini patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place some shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the pan to melt the cheese.

Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the romaine lettuce leaves. Trim the stems if necessary to make them easier to wrap.

Assemble the Wraps: Place each mini patty on a lettuce leaf. Top with diced tomatoes, pickles, red onions, and a dollop of mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard as desired.

Serve: Bundle up the lettuce wraps and serve immediately. These bites are best enjoyed fresh!
