Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp instant yeast

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp sugar

1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup olive oil

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk and melted butter. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon or your hands until a rough dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Garlic-Butter Mixture: In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

Shape the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle, about 12x18 inches. Cut the dough into squares (about 2 inches each).

Stack the Pieces: Dip each square into the warm garlic-butter mixture to coat and then stack them vertically in a greased bundt pan or a loaf pan. Continue layering until all dough squares are used.

Second Rise: Cover the pan with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until the dough has puffed up and filled the gaps between squares.

Preheat & Brush: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the top of the dough with the egg wash to give it a beautiful golden color when baking.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Remove the pull-apart bread from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Carefully pull apart the sections to enjoy while warm.
