Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

½ cup creamy peanut butter (or almond butter)

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate for a sweeter taste)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother chocolate coating)

Chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or peanuts), for garnish

Mini chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Sea salt (optional, for finishing)

Instructions

Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise. If desired, you can also make quarter sections for smaller bites.

Skewer the Bananas: Insert a wooden popsicle stick or skewer into the cut end of each banana piece, making sure it's secure. Place the banana pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Spread the Peanut Butter: Using a butter knife or spatula, generously spread peanut butter over the exposed side of each banana half. Be sure to cover it well for maximum flavor.

Freeze the Banana Pops: Place the baking sheet with the peanut butter-covered bananas in the freezer for about 1-2 hours, until they are firm.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat.

Coat the Frozen Bananas: Once the banana pops are frozen, remove them from the freezer. Dip each peanut butter-coated banana pop into the melted chocolate, making sure to coat it well. Alternatively, you can drizzle the chocolate over the bananas with a spoon for a unique look.

Garnish: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle your choice of chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, or sprinkles on top for added texture and flavor. For a salty contrast, a light sprinkle of sea salt is delightful.

Final Freeze: Place the chocolate-coated banana pops back onto the baking sheet. Return to the freezer for an additional 30-60 minutes to ensure the chocolate hardens completely.

Serve: Once fully set, remove the pops from the freezer. Enjoy them immediately or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a month.
