Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and drained

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu:

    - Cut the pressed tofu block into 1-inch cubes. Make sure to remove as much moisture as possible by pressing it again between paper towels.

      Coat the Tofu:

        - In a medium bowl, combine the cornstarch, chili powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, and sea salt.

          - Gently toss the tofu cubes in the spice mixture until evenly coated.

            Preheat and Cook:

              - Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

                - Once hot, carefully add the coated tofu cubes in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. You may need to do this in batches.

                  - Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to turn them to prevent breaking.

                    Add Flavor:

                      - Once the tofu is crispy on all sides, reduce the heat to medium-low and drizzle the soy sauce and lime juice over the cubes. Gently stir to coat the tofu and allow to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce is absorbed.

                        Serve:

                          - Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro.

                            - Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.

Enjoy your crunchy chili-lime tofu cubes as a flavorful snack, or atop a salad, rice bowl, or tacos!
