Crispy Mozzarella Wonton Dippers

Ingredients
  

12 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks or cubes

24 wonton wrappers

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil, for frying

Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions
 

Prepare the Wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface or cutting board.

    Fill the Wrappers: Place a mozzarella stick or cube in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wonton with a little water using your fingertip.

      Seal the Wontons: Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing down firmly to seal. Then, fold the two outer corners toward the center and seal again. Ensure there are no air pockets and the cheese is securely enclosed.

        Set Up Dredging Stations: Prepare three shallow bowls – one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

          Coat the Wontons: Dip each wonton in flour, shaking off any excess. Next, coat it in the egg, and finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.

            Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

              Fry the Wontons: Carefully drop a few wontons at a time into the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

                Serve: Serve the crispy mozzarella wonton dippers warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
