Ingredients

2 plain bagels

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 medium apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced

Optional: caramel sauce or yogurt for dipping

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the bagels: Slice each bagel into thin chips (about 1/2 inch thick). You can cut them into wedges or rounds according to your preference.

Make the cinnamon sugar mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

Coat the bagel chips: Brush both sides of the bagel slices with the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring an even coating.

Bake the bagel chips: Place the coated bagel slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bagel chips are golden brown and crispy.

Prepare the apples: While the bagel chips are baking, thinly slice the apple and sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon if desired.

Serve: Once the bagel chips are done, let them cool slightly. Serve with the apple slices and a side of caramel sauce or yogurt for dipping.
