1 cup cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

2 slices whole grain bread

1 tablespoon fresh parsley (or cilantro), chopped

Sliced radishes or cherry tomatoes for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Chickpeas: In a mixing bowl, mash the drained chickpeas with a fork or potato masher until they resemble a chunky paste. Leave some whole for texture.

    Mix Flavors: Add the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the mashed chickpeas. Mix well until thoroughly combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
