Cheesy Ham and Broccoli Breakfast Bake

2 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped

1 cup diced cooked ham

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

6 large eggs

1/2 cup milk (or cream for a richer taste)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.

    Prepare the Broccoli: In a pot of boiling water, blanch the chopped broccoli florets for about 3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain again and set aside.

      Mix the Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried basil (if using) until well combined.

        Combine Ingredients: In the greased baking dish, evenly spread the blanched broccoli and diced ham. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the ham and broccoli mixture.

          Add Egg Mixture: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the broccoli and ham layers, allowing it to distribute evenly.
