Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked chili (beef, turkey, or vegetarian, your choice)

1/2 cup diced onions (optional)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1 egg (for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)

Sour cream or guacamole for dipping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Chili Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chili, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, diced onions (if using), garlic powder, ground cumin, and smoked paprika. Mix well until combined.

Roll Out Dough: On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles along the perforated edges.

Fill Crescents: Place about a tablespoon of the chili mixture at the wider end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a little more shredded cheddar on top of the chili filling.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, gently roll up each crescent triangle towards the pointed end, securing the filling inside. Pinch the edges to seal the dough.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the egg wash over each rolled crescent for a beautiful golden glaze.

Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, allow the crescent rolls to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions if desired. Serve warm with sour cream or guacamole for dipping.
