Ingredients

8 cups day-old bread, cubed (e.g., French or brioche)

1 cup pecans, chopped

4 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Extra caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Prepare the Bread: In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and chopped pecans. Toss the bread with half of the caramel sauce (1/2 cup) until evenly coated. Set aside to let the bread soak up the caramel.

Make the Custard: In another large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, salt, and melted butter until well combined.

Combine Bread and Custard: Add the bread mixture to the custard mixture. Gently stir until all the bread is fully immersed in the liquid. Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes, letting the bread absorb the custard.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Drizzle any remaining caramel sauce over the top.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.

Cool and Serve: Let the bread pudding cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce and serve warm, topped with whipped cream if desired.
